Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information may be submitted through NativePlantIndex, how those submissions are handled, and how to contact us about privacy-related questions.
Website forms are used to receive suggestions, listing requests, corrections, and general inquiries.
1. Information We Collect
You can browse NativePlantIndex without submitting personal information through our forms.
If you choose to contact us or submit information, the information collected depends on the form and the details you provide.
Information may include:
- Nursery names and website addresses.
- City and state information.
- Links to published nursery information.
- Buying-method and plant-format suggestions.
- Descriptions of regional or habitat specialization.
- Contact email addresses.
- Details included in correction requests or messages.
Do not submit passwords, payment information, government identification numbers, or other sensitive personal information through our forms.
2. Website Forms and Processing
NativePlantIndex uses a Cloudflare Worker to receive website form submissions. Forms send information as JSON to the following endpoint:
https://directory-forms.starbase03.workers.dev/submit
The submission includes the site identifier, form type, page address, submitted fields, and a honeypot field used for spam prevention.
Our forms include the following submission types:
- Submit: Suggestions for native-plant nurseries.
- Claim: Requests to claim or correct a nursery listing.
- Correction: Reports of inaccurate or outdated information.
- Contact: General questions and inquiries.
Form submissions are processed through the Worker and associated Cloudflare storage. They are received as pending submissions.
Submissions are reviewed before anything is published. Sending a form does not automatically create a listing, change a record, or make submitted contact information public.
3. How Submitted Information Is Used
Submitted information may be used to:
- Evaluate suggested nursery listings.
- Verify published buying methods and plant formats.
- Review regional and habitat specialization information.
- Investigate correction requests.
- Respond to listing claims and contact inquiries.
- Prevent spam and abusive submissions.
- Maintain the accuracy of the directory.
Information is not automatically added to public listings merely because it was submitted.
4. Public Directory Information
Information verified from nursery-owned public sources may appear in directory listings. This can include nursery names, locations, websites, published buying methods, plant formats, and regional specializations.
Personal contact details submitted privately through a form are not intentionally displayed as public listing information.
We do not publish private submission messages as public content without an appropriate editorial reason and review.
5. Cookies and Tracking
NativePlantIndex is built as a static website. At launch, the site does not intentionally install analytics or advertising tracking scripts, and no advertising code is included.
Hosting and security infrastructure may process technical request information as part of delivering and protecting the website. Such processing is subject to the relevant infrastructure provider's policies.
If advertising or analytics services are introduced in the future, this policy will be updated to describe relevant changes.
6. Third-Party Websites
Directory listings and other pages may link to external nursery websites and third-party services.
When you leave NativePlantIndex, the privacy practices of the destination website apply. We do not control how external websites collect, use, or store information.
Review the privacy policy of an external website before providing it with personal information.
7. Data Storage and Retention
Website form submissions are handled through the forms Worker and Cloudflare storage. Submitted information is retained for administrative review and handling of the relevant request.
We do not represent that submissions are stored for a particular fixed period. Retention and deletion may depend on the operational requirements of the submission system and applicable obligations.
8. Information Security
We use the website's submission infrastructure to receive and handle form information. No internet transmission or electronic storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Avoid including sensitive information that is not necessary to process your request.
9. Your Privacy Requests
If you have submitted information and want to ask about its handling, correction, or deletion, contact us using the contact page.

Requests may require verification before action can be taken.
10. Children's Privacy
NativePlantIndex is a general informational directory and is not directed toward children. We do not knowingly solicit personal information from children through our forms.
